Hi there! I’m Sara, and I’m so glad you’re here. As I’ve gotten older, starting my day with gratitude and a full heart has become more important than ever. That’s the inspiration behind Rise & Shine Co-op — a place to connect with happiness, inspire joy, and encourage everyone to embrace their best selves, no matter what that looks like.
I’m a wife and mom of two, living in the stunning state of Colorado. I love sharing the things that inspire me to wake up each morning with excitement and positivity. Traveling is a big part of that! I find joy in researching and planning trips, and I’m excited to pass along tips and tricks for those who dread the planning process, so you can have fun while exploring the world. When traveling, my goal is to get away from the crowds and find hidden gems, so my suggestions are based on my personal experiences.
Travel has also taken a more important role to me personally, because this is an uninterrupted time for us to connect as a family and be together. While a million different priorities take us in different directions most of the time, when we are travelling together, we are at our very best as a family. But to achieve that, it is essential for me to plan trips to places and activities that we all can enjoy, and create wonderful memories together. Our 2024 trip to Costa Rica was one of those vacations that will stay with us forever!
Living in Colorado, I’m also passionate about the outdoors. Health and wellness are central to my family’s life, including our black lab, Otis. We spend our time hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and soaking up all the natural beauty this state has to offer. And we have plenty of opportunities for another of our passions – music! When it comes to live music, you’ll often find us at a local festival or enjoying a show at one of Colorado’s incredible amphitheaters. As a native, I plan to share my favorite places to explore in this amazing state!
Navigating this season of life can be interesting – my kids are now old enough that they can take care of their own basic needs. In fact, my daughter recently started driving, which is a whole new level of parenting! That freedom has allowed me to have pockets of time to myself… a concept completely unfamiliar to me for the past 16 years. I have time for hobbies, and to do things I want to do with my time (sometimes – there is still a lot of parenting going on!).
One of those hobbies? Sourdough! I’m currently on a journey of “raising” my very own sourdough starter, and I can’t wait to share my experiences — the successes, the failures, and all the lessons learned along the way.
